VANKLEEK HILL – “I had gotten to a point in my life where I thought I should be healthy due to my education and lifestyle practices. I am a Heilkunst practitioner since 2004 and am well versed in the art of remediation using regimen, homeopathy and therapeutic education. I love to garden and eat my own produce. I have done all the recommended things, took all the supplements, ate very little processed foods – except the occasional hamburger at a chain restaurant. But I still didn’t feel right. Why? I needed to learn more!”

These are the words of Gudula Bauer, of Fournier, Ontario, who is the guest this Saturday, April 11, at Arbor Gallery. Bauer will be the final presentation of the 19th edition of the Speaker Series “Interesting Talks with Interesting People”. “So what to do? I learned about synthetic vitamins – about not being able to absorb nutrients, about foods that inhibit the absorption of nutrients and about nutrient deficient foods. Then I learned about enzymes and that information lead me to raw food. I added to my education through a Raw Nutrition Certificate in 2013 and an INN Health Coach Certificate in 2014”. Says Bauer. “Everyone is different and needs to take their own individual approach to achieve their own health and wellness goals. And most importantly, your state of mind, heart and soul governs your ability to make sensible choices when it comes to feeding your body”.

Gudula Bauer will be talking about raw food and eating healthy this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Arbor Gallery, 36 Home Avenue, Vankleek Hill. There is a $6 per person admission at the door, and refreshments will be available. She will explain the difference between eating food and eating quality food, why enzymes are so important to our health and how you can make more out of the food you buy with simple methods that do not cost you a penny. “Eating healthy on a limited budget is possible! I will discuss the choices that get you the best and most cost effective foods. I will also dispense the belief that organic food is more expensive. It is a matter of quality versus quantity”, says Bauer.
